MAC Dare to Wear Collection

MAC Dare to Wear Collection launches in Australia on the
23rd August, 2010*.

As some of the products featured are permanent or PRO products I was lucky to have already owned a few of these eyeshadows.
I passed on the lipglasses – I personally like sheer nude lips and found these lipglasses too pigmented (not a bad thing).

I ended up picking up four eyeshadows; Crazy Cool, Going Bananas, Sassy Grass and Zingy.
I already owned Atlantic Blue, Lime, Sky Blue and Winkle eyeshadows.

More photos below!

My thoughts on the above mentioned products:

Atlantic Blue: is a beautiful “royal” blue. Soft in texture, pigmented and very easy to apply and blend. I recommend this eyeshadow to anyone to loves to rock blue eyes.

Lime: is a perfect yellowish green. Again this one is soft in texture, pigmented, and very easy to apply and blend. This is a very summery colour and looks great with yellows and deeper greens.

Sky Blue: on it’s own this colour can be very faint (even on my neutral NC/NW15 skin tone). I mostly use it as an inner lid colour rather than an all over colour. This shadow also needs a good base to stand out.

Winkle: this shadow is a touch bluer than Electric Eel on me. I haven’t had much of a chance to use this colour yet.

Crazy Cool: I was looking forward to this colour because I love both Digit and Beautiful Iris. On swatching this colour I was so sad that the colour pay off wasn’t as intense as I was hoping. Maybe on my eyes, or using a base this will be better.

Zingy: is a gorgeous blue eyeshadow with a hint of green. Similar to Electric Eel. I haven’t had a chance to wear this on the eyes yet.

Going Bananas: I had heard this yellow was meant to be more vibrant than Crest The Wave – however, I found it to be paler and not a pigmented as Crest The Wave.

Sassy Grass: Again, I haven’t tried this color on my eyes yet, but this is one of the most unique colours I’ve seen in a long time. It seems smooth and reasonably pigmented.

Overall, I love bright colours. Whilst I’m happy with my choices I just wish Going Bananas and Crazy Cool lived up to what I thought they’d be – maybe after wearing them my opinion will change.
